Most recliner failures look like a leather problem - cracked headrests, loose footrest panels, or sagging seats - but the root cause is usually mechanical. Cable-pull recliners stretch and snap their bowden cables. Power recliners burn out limit switches or strip the actuator gearbox. Manual lever models develop play in the scissor frame. We diagnose the chair as a whole: hide, foam, frame, and mechanism.

Sagged seat foams are dissected and re-crowned with high-density PU inserts where collapse is local. Full foam swap only when memory loss is total - we tell you the difference honestly.

Climate-Aware Hide Care

Indian AC airflow strips fat-liquor from leather faster than any other failure mode. We finish every recliner with a humidity-tolerant conditioner and a UV-stable flexible topcoat.

My power recliner stopped mid-cycle - is the motor dead?

Usually no. In our last 200 cases, only 12 percent were dead motors. The rest were limit-switch faults, blown transformers, loose hand-controller cables, or stripped actuator gears - all field-replaceable in one visit. We diagnose with a multimeter before quoting any motor swap.

Do you repair manual lever recliners and cable-pull models?

Yes - manual scissor-frame recliners (the lever-on-the-side type) and bowden-cable models are our most common service call. Cables stretch and snap inside 5 to 8 years in Indian humidity. We carry standard-length replacements and fit them in under an hour.

Will the headrest leather repair last given how much we lean on it?

Yes. We use flexible Italian fillers engineered to move with the hide through 2 to 3 millimetres of compression on every recline. With conditioning every 3 to 6 months and the sofa kept 1.5 metres from AC vents, headrest repairs typically hold 5 to 8 years.

My recliner squeaks loudly. Is it a frame problem?

Almost always a pivot-bushing issue, not a frame failure. We strip and lubricate the four main pivot points with PTFE grease and replace plastic bushings where needed. Squeak gone in 30 minutes - quoted at the diagnosis, not the doorstep.

Can you reupholster the whole recliner if the leather is beyond repair?

We restore over 90 percent of leather recliners without reupholstery. Full reupholstery starts at around INR 28,000 per chair vs. INR 8,500 for our Signature plan. We tell you honestly at diagnosis if the hide is past saving - usually only when delamination covers more than 60 percent of the surface.
