Leather Sofa Repair Services in India
The full menu - everything the studio does at home across India. Every repair starts with a free diagnosis. Pricing below is from-figures, per seat, finalised after the leather is seen.
Most calls come in for one of four things. Cracking is the structural failure - the corium has dried out and the surface is splitting. Peeling is the pigmented topcoat lifting from a bonded or finished hide; it looks similar but the protocol is different. Fading is pigment loss from UV exposure and fat migration - the structure is still good. Recolouring is the rebuild that follows: pigment matched to the original, applied in coats, sealed and conditioned.
For accidents, three pages cover the bulk of damage seen in Indian homes. Tears get a sub-patch and pigment blend. Pet damage - cat scratches, dog teeth, urine - has its own protocol because urine soaks through to the foam. Oil stains (coconut, hair, ghee, food) want a draw-out method, not a wipe-off. The complete stain protocol covers everything else, and the granular stain atlas walks through ink, blood, wine, chai, mehendi, lipstick, sunscreen and more.
Beyond the leather itself, the studio also handles the structure underneath. Sagging cushions get foam replaced - high-density, matched to the original profile. Sectional L-shape sofas need module-level work; the panels are not all the same age, so the protocol shifts per section. Recliners have a mechanism layer that has to be respected during pigment work. Office chairs sit in the same family but get more wear per square inch.
Whole-look changes go to colour change - from oxblood to tan, white to charcoal, with the right base prep. For bonded/PU/faux leather sofas (the bracket where most pigment-flaking comes from), faux & bonded repair is the right route. White leather has its own pigmented-white sub-protocol. Conditioning on its own - no damage, just maintenance - is leather sofa conditioning service, the same step that closes every repair.
Specialist work: smell & odour removal (mould, pet, mustiness - diagnosed first, treated second), pre-sale restoration when the sofa is going on Olx or to a new home, restoration for hotels and offices with volume scheduling, annual maintenance contracts for designer pieces, and packers & movers damage for the post-move tears and scuffs.

How a leather sofa repair actually works
Every job runs the same four steps, whether it is a single cracked seat or a full sectional recolour. Diagnosis comes first - the artisan reads the hide to tell genuine leather from bonded or PU, finds the real failure mode, and checks how deep the damage runs. A cracked surface and a peeling topcoat look alike from across the room but need opposite protocols, so this step decides everything that follows.
Next is preparation and repair: the panel is cleaned of old conditioner and silicone, dried hide is re-fed with fat-liquor, and any split, tear or worn patch is filled and levelled. Then colour - pigment is matched to the original tone and built up in thin coats rather than one heavy layer, so the repair flexes with the leather instead of cracking off it. Finally the panel is sealed and conditioned, the same closing step that protects the finish and is the only step a healthy, undamaged sofa actually needs.
Because the work is layered and done by hand, the studio quotes from-figures and confirms the price only after seeing the leather. The size of the damaged area and the finish type drive the cost - not the brand on the sofa.
The leather we work on
The right protocol depends entirely on what your sofa is actually made of.
Full-grain and top-grain (genuine) leather is the most repairable - it can be cleaned, re-fed, recoloured and resealed, and with care it outlives the foam underneath it. Aniline and semi-aniline hides are softer and more absorbent, so stains and fading need a gentler, slower hand but the results last. Pigmented leather, the common sealed finish on most family sofas, takes recolouring well and is the easiest to colour-match.
Bonded and bicast (PU / faux) leather is the honest exception. It is a thin synthetic skin over a fabric or ground-leather backing, and once that skin starts flaking it is delaminating, not wearing - a refinish can restore the look and buy time, but it is not a permanent repair. We always identify your material at the diagnosis and say plainly which bracket it falls in, so you are never paying for a fix that cannot hold. If you want to check yourself first, the leather finder walks through three quick tests.
Common questions
How much does leather sofa repair cost? Per seat, from-figures: cleaning from ₹2,500, polishing or conditioning from ₹3,500, crack and peel repair from ₹6,500, recolouring from ₹5,500. The final price is set after the leather is seen.
Do you work at home or take the sofa away? Almost everything - repair, recolour, cleaning - is done at home in one visit. Only deep structural work on large pieces may need workshop time, decided at the diagnosis.
Will peeling or cracking come back? Genuine leather, repaired and resealed, lasts for years. Flaking bonded or PU leather is delaminating, so the honest outcome there is a time-buying refinish, not a permanent fix - and we tell you which you have before starting.
How do I know which service I need? You do not have to. The free home diagnosis identifies the failure mode and tells you what is worth doing. No charge for the visit.
Not sure which service you need?
That is what the free home diagnosis is for. The studio comes to you, identifies the failure mode, and tells you what is - and is not - worth doing on the sofa. No charge for the visit.
