Sagging is rarely a design fault and almost always a foam-density choice that did not last. We replace foam at the right density and the right build - never with whatever uniform block the corner upholsterer happens to stock.

What We Do

Foam Service, Density by Density

Most luxury sofas are built with dual-density or tri-density foam stacks - a firm 40-45 kg/m3 high-resilience (HR) base for support, a softer 28-32 kg/m3 layer for sit-feel, and sometimes a top crown of viscoelastic memory foam for body conformity. When the upper layer collapses, customers feel sagging - but replacing the whole stack with a single uniform foam (which most local upholsterers do) destroys the original sit experience.

We diagnose by hand-pressure mapping each cushion, then re-build the stack in the right densities. For local sag we re-crown only the failed layer. For total memory loss we replace the full stack while preserving the original cushion casing and the leather panel. Foam Density Done Right

Foam choice is the most under-discussed quality variable in furniture. The wrong density compresses in 18 months. The right density lasts a decade. We use foam graded by manufacturer test data, not whatever block fits the cushion casing.

Hand-Pressure Mapping First

Before cutting any foam we map each cushion under hand pressure to identify whether the failure is total memory loss, surface compression, or a localised channel collapse along a sit line.

40-45 kg/m3 high-resilience (HR) polyurethane foam for the support layer - rated for 80,000+ compression cycles. Standard furniture-grade foam is 28-32 kg/m3 and lasts a fraction as long.

Where the original cushion had a memory-foam crown layer, we replace it in kind - 50 kg/m3 viscoelastic foam delivers the body-conforming sit-feel that distinguishes premium sofas from generic ones.

Per-Cushion Service, Not Wholesale

In a 6-cushion sectional, often only 2-3 cushions need work. We service exactly those - never the whole sofa - and you only pay per cushion.

Original Casing & Hide Preserved

We open the cushion casing along the existing zip or back seam - never along the front leather. The original hide and stitching are preserved completely.

My sofa cushion sags - is the foam the only problem?

In about 85 percent of cases, yes - the leather is intact, only the foam has lost memory. We diagnose by hand-pressure mapping. The remaining 15 percent involve a broken webbing band underneath the foam (we replace that too) or a cracked frame slat (rare on premium sofas).

Will you replace the leather while youre in there?

No - never as default. The leather is the most expensive part of the sofa and usually the part that has aged best. We open the cushion along the existing zip or back seam and the leather face never moves.

Whats the difference between HR foam and regular furniture foam?

High-resilience (HR) foam at 40-45 kg/m3 lasts 80,000+ compression cycles - roughly 8-10 years of daily use. Standard furniture-grade foam at 28-32 kg/m3 sags noticeably inside 18-24 months. The price difference at install is around 30 percent for many years more service life.

Can you add memory foam to a sofa that didnt have it originally?

Yes - we add a 50 kg/m3 viscoelastic memory crown layer on request. It changes the sit-feel to a body-conforming experience. Many BB Italia and Poltrona Frau owners specifically request this on their re-build.

Do you re-tighten the webbing or replace the springs underneath?

Yes when needed. Sinuous (no-sag) wire springs and elasticated webbing bands are diagnosed alongside the foam. Replacement webbing is included in our Signature plan when we find a snapped band. Spring replacement is quoted separately.

How long does cushion foam replacement take on-site?

Single cushion: 60-90 minutes. Whole-sofa refresh (3-6 cushions): 3-4 hours. Most jobs finish in a single doorstep visit across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata and beyond.
