Almost certainly. Chennai never really dries out - the air comes off the water carrying salt and the hide sits damp most of the year. What fails is not the leather but the glue line holding the finish onto it. Once that softens, the face lets go wherever the panel flexes hardest, which is why it shows at the seat folds and inner arms first. The fix is to pare back to leather that still grips and bond with a compound rated to cure wet.

Yes, and it does not need to leave the room. In this heat, hands and necks put oil into the same few inches of leather daily, and it builds into a dark band along the leading edges, arms and recliner headrests. We take that loaded film off, mix pigment against an unworn part of your own panel in daylight, lay it back in thin passes and seal it. The band then wears at the same rate as everything around it.
Depends entirely on what is under the peel. If only the finish has let go and the leather behind it is still firm, a rebond holds and you keep the sofa. If the damp has been in long enough to rot the backing, no bond will save it, and you will be told to replace rather than pay for a repair that fails. That call is made at the free visit.
On a 3-seater, 1.5 to 3 hours from knock to sitting on it again, allowing a little extra because coatings dry slower in this air. A large sectional with the full atelier rebuild runs 4 to 5 hours. Either way it is one visit - the sofa never leaves your room, and we do not stage returns to stretch the job out.
