Recliner leather reupholstery is not the same as static sofa reupholstery. Every panel template accounts for the mechanism travel range - from fully upright to full recline. Panels cut to static sofa dimensions will split at the hinges within months of refitting. Our recliner templates are mechanism-specific, not adapted from standard sofa patterns.

The hide at seat-to-footrest and seat-to-back hinge points folds every time the recliner operates. On sofas with factory-standard hide templates (not cut for mechanism travel), this fold zone cracks within 3-5 years. Headrests on power recliners accumulate more head and hair-oil contact than any other panel. The topcoat breaks down fastest here, followed by the finish layer. On most La-Z-Boy, Durian and Stanley recliner models the headrest is a discrete panel that can be replaced independently. When the headrest leather has worn through to the substrate, recliner leather reupholstery on this panel alone is the targeted scope. Cup-holder surrounds on centre-console recliners take constant insertion and removal pressure. The leather at the cup entry rings cracks within the first few years on most standard models.
