Togo cover wear and zip failure
The Ligne Roset Togo (Michel Ducaroy, 1973) has no internal frame -- the cover carries all structural stress. Zip teeth fail at year ten to eighteen; cover fabric thins at the seat crease where the polyurethane foam flexes repeatedly under load. Most owners do not realise the zip is structural until the cover gaps and foam is exposed. Similar cover-as-structure challenges appear in frameless upholstery pieces.
