pH-balanced cleaner lifts the sticky salt-film, hair oils and skin transfer that coastal humidity binds onto the grain. Polishing a tacky hide seals contamination under the top-coat — this step prevents that.
Extra pass on seat front, armrest tops and headrest line where sea-spray and humidity soften the topcoat most. Nappa and aniline get a pigment-safe coastal formula so no colour pulls onto the cloth.
Pigment matched to your hide and laid on thin - a wax-based dressing on traditional aniline, a water-based coat on modern pigmented sets - then hand-buffed and sealed with a topcoat tuned to hold against salt-laden air, so the gloss does not turn tacky again by the next spring tide. Whole job fits the 2-hour visitor window; room back in use the same evening.
Mumbai's coastal air carries salt and sits at 60-80% humidity year-round — that combination softens the leather topcoat, clouds the gloss and leaves the surface feeling sticky and tacky to the touch.
