So we do not start with polish - we break that film off the grain, feed the hide back to a leather-safe pH of 4.5-5.5 where the dust let go, then re-sheen the cleared surface. pH-balanced cleaner lifts the greyish textile-city dust film, hair oils and skin transfer that humid Surat air bonds onto the grain. Polishing a dirty hide seals contamination under the top-coat — this step prevents that.
Extra pass on seat front, armrest tops and headrest line where the humid-coastal cycle has dried and stiffened the hide. Nappa and aniline get a pigment-safe formula so no colour pulls onto the cloth.
With the bonded film gone, pigment is matched and laid on thin - a wax dressing for traditional aniline, a water-based coat for modern pigmented sets - then hand-buffed back to an even satin and sealed so fresh mill dust sits on the surface instead of knitting into the grain. Whole job fits the 2-hour visitor window; room back in use the same evening.
